Structural Analysis of Three-Phase Asynchronous Motor

The three-phase asynchronous motor is composed of a fixed part - a stator and a rotating part - a rotor.

The stator is a stationary part of the motor and is mainly composed of a stator core, a stator winding and a base.

As the magnetic circuit of the motor, the stator core is generally laminated with a silicon steel sheet of 0.35-0.5 mm. The surface of the steel sheet is coated with an insulating varnish, the inner circular surface is flushed with a uniformly distributed groove, and the stator winding is embedded in the groove.

The role of the stator winding is to introduce a three-phase alternating current to generate a rotating magnetic field.

Usually, the windings are wound with high-strength enamelled wires into various types of coils, which are embedded in the stator slots.

The base is a fixed stator core and stator windings, and supports the rotor with two end caps, while protecting the heat generated by the entire motor and the diverging motor.

The rotor is a rotating part of the motor and is mainly composed of a rotor core, a rotor winding, a rotating shaft, an end cover and the like. The magnetic circuit of the rotor core as a motor is formed by laminating a silicon steel sheet of 0.35 to 0.5 mm and fixed on a rotating shaft. The surface of the rotor is flushed with evenly distributed slots in which the rotor windings are embedded.

The rotor windings are used to cut the stator magnetic field, generate induced potentials and currents, and rotate the rotor under the action of a rotating magnetic field.

The shaft is used to transmit torque and support the weight of the rotor. It is generally machined from steel and alloy.

The end caps are generally cast iron pieces mounted on both sides of the base to support the rotor.

The damage of the three-phase asynchronous motor is mainly manifested in the following two aspects:

1. The rolling bearing is not installed correctly or the grease is not suitable, causing friction between the shaft and the bearing, causing serious wear and damage to the shaft.

2. The stator winding is damaged.

The main reason is the damage of the stator winding caused by motor overload, turn-to-turn, phase-to-phase, short circuit, and ground breakdown.
