Huangyan is one of the "hometown of Chinese molds" and China's three most important mold production bases. After decades of cultivation and development, the mold industry has become Huangyan’s most regionally competitive and competitive industry. In recent years, Huangyan has been vigorously building and upgrading its public service platform, and has focused on building six major platforms, striving to seek new breakthroughs in the transformation and upgrading of the mold industry.

In the mold industry's land resources, Huangyan not only has a Xicheng Mould City with an area of ​​more than 750 acres, but also a considerable number of mold enterprises in the provincial economic development zone. In order to form a new growth pole for the Huangyan Mould, a space of nearly 3,000 mu has been specially designated for the construction of a new mold city in the West Extension section of the Industrial Park, which has expanded the space for the development of the mold industry. At present, the first phase of 622 mu of land has been formally initiated. The infrastructure of the park is basically completed, and 16 companies are expected to enter the construction site during the year.

In 2008, through the investigation and exploration of various die design units distributed in the region, the Molding Industrial Design Association was established with more than 50 member companies. The Association took the lead in the formulation and implementation of the Plastics Mold Mass Industry Quality Alliance Standard in China, which has been widely adopted by mold enterprises in the entire region. In 2009, the "Huangyan Mould" Cup China International Industrial Design Expo was successfully held to promote industrial design.
