Working principle and application of high speed tubular separation centrifuge
The high-speed tubular separation centrifuge is a specialized equipment designed for the efficient separation of challenging materials, especially those with low density differences, fine solid particles, low solid content, and high viscosity. It is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, and chemical manufacturing where traditional methods may not be effective.
The centrifuge features a tubular drum that rotates at high speed. When processing liquid-liquid-solid mixtures with minimal solid content, the material enters the drum through the bottom feed port. Under the influence of centrifugal force, the heavier liquid forms an outer ring, while the lighter liquid creates an inner ring. The solid particles settle on the drum wall, forming a sediment layer. The heavier liquid exits through the heavy liquid discharge port at the top, while the lighter liquid is removed via the light liquid outlet. The accumulated solids are manually removed once the machine is stopped.
In solid-liquid separation applications, the centrifugal force causes the heavier solids to collect on the drum wall, forming a dense layer. The lighter liquid moves upward along the axis of the drum and is discharged through the upper drain port. Again, the solid residue must be removed manually after the unit has been turned off.
This type of centrifuge is particularly valuable when dealing with difficult-to-separate substances, offering a reliable solution for processes that require high precision and efficiency. Its design allows for continuous operation in certain configurations, making it ideal for industrial-scale applications.
