12th Domestic Coal Price Trend Analysis

The domestic thermal coal market continued to show a stable trend in the latest update. Coal mines maintained regular operations, with sales performing as expected and pit prices remaining steady. At the ports, transaction volumes remained consistent, and inventory levels were also under control. At Qinhuangdao Port, the thermal coal prices stood at 590–610 yuan/ton for 5500 kcal, 555–566 yuan/ton for 5000 kcal, and 455–466 yuan/ton for 4500 kcal, all inclusive of tax. In Guangzhou Port, 3800 kcal coal was priced between 400–420 yuan/ton, while 4000 kcal coal ranged from 415–430 yuan/ton, and 5400 kcal coal reached 610 yuan/ton. Indonesian coal at 3800 kcal was offered at 410 yuan/ton. In Inner Mongolia, high-quality mixed coal at 5500 kcal was reported at 640–656 yuan/ton, while Shanxi Damix coal at 5000 kcal was priced at 570 yuan/ton, and 4800 kcal coal was listed at 540–560 yuan/ton. Other grades such as 4000 kcal, 4700 kcal, and 5400 kcal were reported at 420–440, 520–540, and 600–620 yuan/ton respectively. These are all port delivery prices. The mainstream coal injection market also maintained stability, with limited short-term growth potential. However, winter stockpiling support is helping to sustain prices. Regional reference prices include: 800 yuan/ton for Shanxi Yangquan lean coal, 810 yuan/ton for Jincheng smokeless coal, and 840 yuan/ton for Changzhi double 11 lean coal. In Hebei’s Tangshan area, smokeless coal was priced at 880 yuan/ton, while in Henan’s Yongcheng, it reached 960 yuan/ton. Prices in Jiaozuo and Anhui Suzhou were set at 870 and 960 yuan/ton respectively. The anthracite market also showed signs of stability. Coal mines in key anthracite regions saw a gradual increase in production, with downstream buyers boosting procurement efforts in preparation for winter storage. Demand for residential use also rose due to cooler weather. In Shanxi, Jincheng Laishui 7000 kcal smoke-free blocks were priced at 1030 yuan/ton, while Jincheng Gaoping 6000 kcal smoke-free coal ended at 600 yuan/ton. Other grades like 7500 kcal wash blocks were priced at 1130 yuan/ton. In Yangquan, 5000 kcal smoke-free coal was at 610 yuan/ton (pit price), and 6500 kcal small blocks were available at 820 yuan/ton (excluding tax). In Linyi, 6000 kcal smoke-free small blocks were priced between 900–960 yuan/ton, and 5000 kcal blocks ranged from 1050–1110 yuan/ton. The coking coal market remained stable, with no significant price fluctuations and overall trading activity subdued. In Qinghai, 1/3 coking coal pit prices remained steady at 440–510 yuan/ton, while truck board prices were between 650–710 yuan/ton. In Qujing, Zhanyi coke coal prices stayed unchanged, with A10.5 at 1060 yuan/ton, A15 at 850 yuan/ton, 1/3 Jiao A9.5 at 1160 yuan/ton, and A15 at 800 yuan/ton, all inclusive of tax.
