12th Domestic Coal Price Trend Analysis

The domestic thermal coal market has remained stable, with consistent operations across coal mines and steady pit prices. At the ports, trading activity has been stable, and inventory levels have remained balanced. In Qinhuangdao, thermal coal prices are as follows: 5500 kcal at 590–610 yuan/ton, 5000 kcal at 555–566 yuan/ton, and 4500 kcal at 455–466 yuan/ton, all inclusive of taxes. Guangzhou port reports 3800 kcal at 400–420 yuan/ton, 4000 kcal at 415–430 yuan/ton, 5400 kcal at 610 yuan/ton, and Indonesian coal at 410 yuan/ton. In Inner Mongolia, high-quality mixed coal at 5500 kcal is priced between 640–656 yuan/ton, while Shanxi Damix coal at 5000 kcal is reported at 570 yuan/ton, and 4800 kcal at 540–560 yuan/ton. Other grades such as 4000 kcal and 4700 kcal are also reported at 420–440 and 520–540 yuan/ton respectively, with 5400 kcal at 600–620 yuan/ton. All prices are for port delivery.

The mainstream coal injection market has continued to operate steadily, with limited short-term growth potential. However, winter stockpiling support is helping to maintain stability. Regional injection coal prices include: Shanxi Yangquan lean coal at 800 yuan/ton, Jincheng smokeless coal at 810 yuan/ton, Changzhi double 11 lean coal at 840 yuan/ton, Tangshan Hebei smokeless coal at 880 yuan/ton, Henan Yongcheng smokeless coal at 960 yuan/ton, Jiaozuo smokeless coal at 870 yuan/ton, and Anhui Suzhou smokeless coal at 960 yuan/ton. These prices are all inclusive of tax and based on truck board delivery.

The anthracite market remains stable, with coal mines in major producing areas operating at a steady pace. Increased demand from downstream feeders is being driven by preparations for winter storage, and procurement enthusiasm has risen accordingly. Meanwhile, civil demand has also seen a boost due to cooler weather. In Shanxi, key anthracite prices include: Jincheng Laishui 7000 kcal smokeless blocks at 1030 yuan/ton, Jincheng Gaoping 6000 kcal smokeless coal at 600 yuan/ton, and Jincheng 7500 kcal smokeless wash blocks at 1130 yuan/ton. In Yangquan, 5000 kcal smokeless coal is priced at 610 yuan/ton (inclusive of tax), while 6500 kcal small blocks are at 820 yuan/ton (excluding tax). In Linyi, 6000 kcal smokeless small blocks range from 900–960 yuan/ton, and 5000 kcal smokeless blocks are at 1050–1110 yuan/ton, both inclusive of pit tax.

The coking coal market has remained stable, with no significant price fluctuations and low overall turnover. Prices in Qinghai remain steady, with 1/3 coking coal pit prices ranging from 440–510 yuan/ton, and main coking coal truck board prices at 650–710 yuan/ton. On the 10th, Qujing Zhanyi coke coal prices were stable, with A10.5 reported at 1060 yuan/ton, A15 at 850 yuan/ton, 1/3 Jiao A9.5 at 1160 yuan/ton, and A15 at 800 yuan/ton, all inclusive of factory tax.
