At the same time, the Ministry of Health reiterated that melamine is not a food raw material nor a food additive and is strictly prohibited from being artificially added to food. The new melamine regulations are not repeated in the new National Standards for Dairy Safety and are still implemented in accordance with the current melamine limit management regulations for dairy products.

The assessment results show that in addition to the high-water iodine area in China, the iodine nutrition status of most areas is in an appropriate and safe level, and the coastal area is no exception. The addition of salt to iodine does not cause excessive iodine intake in our country's residents; The lack of health risk is greater than the health risk of iodine excess. Therefore, the continued implementation of the salt iodization strategy is necessary to improve the iodine nutritional status of residents in most areas including coastal areas.
