Automatic generation of non-circular punches and dies in die CAD (2)

2. Processing of polygon point sets

If two arcs or arcs are connected to a line segment as a tangent point, there may be no ridge lines corresponding to the tangent point in the main view. In order to correctly generate the main view, after the "polygonization" of the top view, Judge all the cut points to determine which cut points to delete and which cut points should be retained. The specific judgment method is as follows:

(1) If the two arcs are tangent, set the center to O1 and O2, the radius is R1 and R2, respectively, and the tangent point is P. O1x, O2x, and Px are the X coordinate values of the two centers and the tangent points respectively. When |O1x When -O2x|=|R1-R2|, the cut point needs to be retained, otherwise the cut point is deleted.

(2) If the vertical line segment is tangent to the arc, the tangent point should be retained. When the remaining line segments are tangent to the arc, the tangent point is deleted. The top view of the non-circular punch containing the circular arc segment is converted into the case where the non-circular punch top view is completely composed of line segments after the "polygonization" process, so the method of processing the first case and the second case is the same. of.

Figure 2 is a part drawing of a stamping part. To automatically generate the punching punch of the part, firstly, the part drawing should be appropriately offset according to the requirements of the part and the thickness of the sheet, and then the offset pattern is The "polygonization" process is performed, and the center of each arc is calculated, and each intersection of the arc and the horizontal diameter is calculated. According to the above three cases, each arc of the figure is replaced by an appropriate line segment, and the replaced polygon is as shown in Fig. 3b.
