This new international standard was developed by Sandvik Coromant, the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, the French Machinery Industry Technology Center (Cetim) and other stakeholders in the field of metal cutting.

A new international standard, ISO 13399, "Expression and Exchange of Cutting Tool Data" aims to eliminate the time-consuming and laborious obstacles in collecting cutting tool information.
