Riveting machine routine maintenance

1. Do not process workpieces that exceed the machine's nominal capacity to avoid damage or malfunction.

2. Avoid operating the machine under high pressure for extended periods, as this can lead to mechanical stress and reduce equipment lifespan.

3. Ensure the protruding length of the rivet head does not exceed the specified limit, as excessive length may affect the quality of the riveting and cause misalignment.

4. If any abnormality is detected during operation, stop the machine immediately and perform maintenance to identify and resolve the issue before resuming use.

5. Lubricate the equipment’s guide rails once a month to ensure smooth movement and prevent rusting. Apply a suitable lubricant to all moving parts regularly.

6. When installing or removing the rivet head, do so slowly and carefully. Avoid using brute force to pull it out. Instead, rotate the rivet head slightly and pull it out gradually. If the rivet seat moves out of position, the rivet will be misaligned after installation. In such cases, remove the red safety cover and reposition the rivet before continuing. Failure to do so may result in machine damage.

7. During the processing of certain materials, the rivet head may experience slight adhesion. To maintain riveting quality, clean the rivet head regularly. Use a lathe chuck to secure the rivet head and gently sand it with fine-grit sandpaper to remove any buildup.

8. Perform routine maintenance every two weeks. Key tasks include:

  • A. Check the oil level in the pneumatic triple oil cup and refill if necessary.
  • B. Inspect steam pipes and joints for tightness and air leaks.
  • C. Check the rivet cavity for any sticking and clean if needed.
  • D. Grease the spherical joint to ensure smooth operation.

9. Every six months, schedule a comprehensive shutdown and maintenance session. The main checks include:

  • A. Inspect the cylinder’s upper and lower sections for air leaks and replace the sealing ring if necessary.
  • B. Recheck steam pipes and joints for proper connections and air leakage.
  • C. Verify the protruding length of the rivet head and replace it if it exceeds the standard.
  • D. Examine the swinging motion of the rivet head. If irregular, shut down the machine for maintenance. If the issue is related to the spherical part, repair or replace it promptly.
  • E. Monitor the spindle’s rotation for unusual noise or poor riveting quality. If wear or damage is found, replace the bearing immediately.
  • F. Reapply grease to the spherical joint.
  • G. Lubricate the rails and other components to protect against rust and ensure smooth movement.

10. Assign a dedicated person to handle regular maintenance schedules. If any issues arise that cannot be resolved internally, contact the manufacturer for professional assistance.
