Fuyang held a patent report on patent navigation planning and new material industry development strategy results for superhard materials industry
On April 21, Fuyang City hosted a special report meeting at the Wenbo Center, focusing on patent navigation planning and the development strategies for the equipment manufacturing and new materials industries, with a particular emphasis on the superhard materials sector. The event brought together industry leaders, experts, and government officials to discuss key insights and future directions.
Zhang Yong, Assistant General Manager of the Patent Early Warning and Consultation Center under the Beijing Central Committee of the Association, presented the phased outcomes of the Zhengzhou Superhard Materials Industry's patent navigation plan. Cao Hu, President of Kotler Consulting Group (USA), delivered a comprehensive report on the development strategy for Fuyang’s equipment manufacturing and new materials sectors. Dr. Milton Kotler, Chairman of the global Kotler Consulting Group, gave a keynote speech titled "Strategic Opportunities for the Development of Equipment Manufacturing in Fuyang City," offering valuable perspectives on how the city can leverage its industrial potential.
The Zhengzhou Superhard Materials Industry Patent Navigation Planning Project was led by the State Intellectual Property Office and implemented by the Beijing Central Government's Patent Early Warning and Consulting Center. Launched in late December 2013 and completed in February 2014, the project utilized advanced technical tools and big data analysis to develop strategic navigation plans for the industry. Its findings were comprehensive, methodologically rigorous, and strategically aligned with both local conditions and global trends. By analyzing the industrial chain and patent landscape, the project uncovered key relationships between patent control and competitive dynamics, providing a solid foundation for future growth. The results are expected to play a crucial role in expanding the Zhengzhou New Materials Industrial Park through patent navigation, research, and technology transfer.
Meanwhile, the Xiangyang Equipment Manufacturing and New Materials Industry Development Strategy Research Project, undertaken by the US-based Kotler Consulting Group, was completed in early 2014. As a leading international consulting firm founded by Dr. Philip Kotler, the father of modern marketing, the group has worked with over 300 Fortune 500 companies and numerous government agencies. This project focused on industrial clusters, enterprise development, and product marketing, delivering strategic insights for two key industries in Fuyang. With a global perspective and strong analytical framework, it aims to guide the city in addressing industrial gaps, enhancing existing sectors, and driving sustainable growth.
Mayor Wang Xinting emphasized that the three projects represent exploratory efforts that elevate the industries of Xiangyang to a national and global level. He highlighted that while the methodologies differ, they all aim to create a broader vision for long-term development. Standing tall means seeing further, and only with a grand vision can meaningful progress be achieved.
Over 220 participants attended the meeting, including county-level officials, retired leaders, park management committee members, business representatives, and senior officials from various departments such as science and technology, investment promotion, finance, and taxation. Experts from national patent navigation alliances and new materials parks also joined, underscoring the significance of the event. (Feng Huaijie, Fuyang Intellectual Property Office)
