Fire-fighting volunteers send fire protection to the masses
On May 9th, the Huadian Firefighting Joint TV Station in Jilin City, Jilin Province, organized a fire safety publicity campaign in a busy commercial area to enhance public awareness and encourage active participation in fire prevention. The event took place at Lanjing Shopping Center on Daxing Street, where firefighters and media personnel came together to educate the public on essential fire safety practices.
At the event, fire safety officers set up banners, advisory desks, and distributed informative materials that covered key topics such as basic fire extinguishing techniques, the "four capabilities" for fire safety in social units, requirements for fire facilities, management practices, escape procedures, and safety measures for different environments. The content was presented in an easy-to-understand visual format, making it accessible to people of all ages.
As visitors passed by the information desk, volunteers explained important fire safety tips and addressed any questions they had. They reminded attendees about the dry spring weather and emphasized the importance of clearing flammable materials from homes and surroundings. Additionally, they encouraged the public to improve their fire and gas safety habits, learn how to dial 119 correctly, and develop self-rescue skills in case of a fire.
The event lasted nearly two hours, with the Huadian TV station providing live coverage throughout the activity. Over 3,000 fire safety materials were handed out, and more than 100 members of the public engaged in discussions with the team. This initiative not only strengthened fire safety awareness but also helped eliminate common fire hazards, contributing to a safer and more harmonious community environment.
