Analysis of Structural Features and Precautions of Thermal Overload Relays

Structure:

Use cautions:

1. The overload relay can only be used to control the motor overload protection and cannot be used as short-circuit protection.

2. The rated current of the object to be protected must be known during installation. The specification must be +20% of the rated current.

3. Usually installed directly behind the MagnetSwitch of the motor.

4. When the current is too high or the load current exceeds the setting, the overload relay will be activated and the circuit will be broken. Although the reset path can be reset, if the device overload relay is started, the set current can not be arbitrarily increased. The cause of the overload should be ascertained, otherwise the protected device can easily be burned.

The working principle of the thermal overload relay is to use the bimetal expansion coefficients connected in series in the circuit. When the current flowing in the circuit causes the bimetal to generate heat, the bending direction of the metal sheet changes due to different expansion coefficients to achieve the setting requirements. Open the normally closed point, cut off the circuit, it can only play the role of overload protection circuit, does not have short circuit and leakage and other functions. Leakage protection is to detect whether the current flowing in and out of the circuit is the same to determine whether there is leakage. Normally, the inflow and outflow are equal. When there is leakage, the inflow and outflow of the current are not equal. After the value is cut off the circuit, he is only a safety guarantee.
