Inner Mongolia pasture returning to green is greatly affected by temperature

Since the beginning of May, there have been staged low-temperature weather in most parts of Inner Mongolia, and the soil moisture in the northern pastoral areas has been poor, which has adversely affected the greening and growth of pasture. Meteorologists believe that the current low temperature weather makes the grass grow slowly. It is recommended that the main pastoral areas strengthen the management of grassland rest and grazing period, do a good job of feeding the young animals and adult dams, and reasonably prolong the grassland grazing period.

According to the latest meteorological data of the Inner Mongolia Meteorological Department, in early May, the temperature in the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia was 1 degree Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius, which made the grass grow slowly after returning to green. The temperature in the eastern region was 1 degree Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius, which was conducive to grass greening. From May 11th to 12th, spring frost appeared in the central part of Inner Mongolia, especially in the central and southern parts of Xilin Gol League. The frost was heavier, which was unfavorable for the growth and development of pasture.

Despite the occurrence of low temperature weather, in general, since the pasture regreening period is generally one to 24 days earlier than last year, the soil moisture in the early pastoral areas is relatively good, which creates favorable conditions for pasture growth, so the grass height in most areas. It is 1 cm to 4 cm higher than the same period in 2010. At present, pastures in most areas of the region have returned to green, and only parts of the eastern part have not returned to green.

Since the beginning of May, there have been strong winds, dust and cooling weather in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia. Spring frost has also appeared in the central region, which makes the grass grow slowly. Meteorologists suggest that the main pastoral areas should strengthen the management of grassland and pasture, and prepare young animals and adult dams. The supplementary feeding work will reasonably prolong the grassland reclamation period from 5 days to 10 days, so that the forage grass will grow normally after greening, improve vegetation coverage and protect the grassland ecological environment.
