Xiamen: High-tech equipment participates in emergency rescue drills
At 10 a.m. on June 27, an emergency drill for safety production accident response in public gathering places was conducted at Wanda Plaza in Huli District, Xiamen, accompanied by a loud alarm. The exercise was organized by the Xiamen City Security Commission and the Xiamen Municipal Safety Supervision Bureau, marking a significant event during the 13th National Safety Production Month.
This was the largest safety drill held in Xiamen this year, featuring three groundbreaking innovations. It was the first time modern communication technology was used to enable remote command and coordination of emergency rescue operations. Additionally, it marked the first implementation of a remote water supply system for firefighting in super-large buildings, significantly improving efficiency in high-rise fire scenarios. Another major highlight was the involvement of civilian rescue teams and the use of helicopters within the city area for emergency response, showcasing a new level of integration between air and ground resources in disaster management.
The drill aimed to enhance preparedness, improve coordination among different agencies, and test the effectiveness of new technologies in real-world conditions. Participants included local government officials, firefighters, medical teams, and volunteers, all working together to simulate a large-scale emergency scenario.
This event not only demonstrated Xiamen's commitment to public safety but also set a new standard for emergency response in urban areas. By incorporating advanced technology and expanding the role of civilian organizations, the city is taking important steps toward building a more resilient and responsive safety system.
