Superhard tool national major special project passed the acceptance

Abstract Recently, the project titled “High-efficiency Precision Indexable Tool Series and Super-hard Tool,” led by Zhuzhou Diamond Cutting Tool Co., Ltd., successfully passed the acceptance test at the user site—Xi’an Aerodynamics Co., Ltd. The evaluation meeting was chaired by Researcher Yang Jingyan from the Beijing Machine Tool Research Institute. During the session, representatives from Zhuzhou Diamond, Central South University, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology provided detailed reports on their contributions to the project. Meanwhile, tool users such as FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. and FAW Mould Manufacturing Co., Ltd. shared their experiences with product application and performance testing.

This project has made significant breakthroughs in key technologies, including the development of advanced PVD coatings like nanocrystalline/amorphous composite coatings, (Ti, Al)N/TiN nano-multilayer coatings, gradient matrix structures, and ultra-fine crystal matrices. It also introduced innovative features such as double-coil cooling holes for indexed shallow-hole drilling. A total of 23 patents have been granted, and one application for an industry standard has been submitted. The project has developed 14 tool grade series—YBD, YBC, YBM, and YBG—and 31 tool model series covering turning, milling, and drilling. These tools have passed rigorous testing by the National Tool Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, with some products matching or even surpassing similar foreign alternatives. This advancement significantly enhances the technological level of high-end domestic tools.

The results of this project have already been applied in major industries, including China First Heavy Machinery Group Corporation, China Second Heavy Machinery Group Corporation, FAW-Volkswagen, Xi’an Aerodynamics, and FAW Mould Manufacturing. The successful implementation of this project has greatly enhanced the competitiveness of domestically produced high-efficiency indexable tools against imported high-end tools. It now has the capability to replace foreign tools in general-purpose machining applications involving cast iron and steel materials. Additionally, the supporting infrastructure and capabilities have seen notable improvements. Currently, Zhuzhou Diamond Cutting Tool Co., Ltd. has an annual production capacity of 50 million high-efficiency indexable tools, making a substantial contribution to increasing the market share of Chinese-made tools in the domestic market.

Fiber Optic Lights​
Fiber optic lights are a unique lighting option for fountains, consisting of thin, flexible fibers that transmit light from a central light source. The fibers can be arranged in various patterns within the fountain, creating a starry or twinkling effect in the water. These lights are safe to use in water as the light source is located outside the fountain, reducing the risk of electrical hazards. Fiber optic lights are available in a range of colors, and some systems allow for color changes by switching the central light source. They are often used in smaller fountains or as accent lighting in larger installations, adding a magical and ethereal quality to the water display.​
Underwater RGBW Lights​
Underwater RGBW lights combine the functionality of RGB lights with a white light component, providing a wider range of color options and improved color rendering. The addition of white light allows for more natural-looking illumination of the water and surrounding features, while the RGB colors offer vibrant and dynamic effects. These lights are specifically designed to be used underwater, with a waterproof construction that ensures durability and safety. They are commonly used in high-end fountain projects, such as those in hotels, resorts, or public parks, where a high-quality and versatile lighting display is required. Underwater RGBW lights can be controlled via a control panel or smartphone app, enabling precise adjustment of color, brightness, and lighting patterns.
