Large diameter straight seam welded pipe

Large-diameter straight-seam steel pipes, also known as welded pipes, are manufactured by bending steel plates or strips and then welding them together. These pipes can be classified based on the welding method into straight-seam and spiral-seam pipes. Depending on their application, they are further divided into categories such as general welded pipes, galvanized welded pipes, oxygen-blowing welded pipes, wire conduit pipes, metric welded pipes, idler pipes, deep well pump pipes, automobile pipes, transformer pipes, thin-wall electric welded pipes, special-purpose electric welded pipes, and spiral-welded pipes.

General welded pipes are primarily used for transporting low-pressure fluids. They are typically made from materials like Q195A, Q215A, and Q235A steel, or other mild steels that are easy to weld. These pipes undergo various tests, including hydrostatic pressure, bending, and flattening, and must meet certain surface quality standards. The standard delivery length is usually between 4 to 10 meters, though fixed lengths or double-length specifications are often required. The size of the pipe is indicated by the nominal diameter (in millimeters or inches), which may differ from the actual outer diameter. Based on wall thickness, these pipes come in two types: standard and heavy-duty. Additionally, they can be either threaded or unthreaded at the ends. The typical size range for these welded pipes is from 6 to 17 inches.

Large-diameter straight-seam steel pipes are produced using a common method involving steel strips. When the welding is done using high-frequency equipment, the resulting pipe is called a straight-seam welded pipe, named due to the straight line of the weld. Depending on the intended use, these pipes go through different post-production processes, such as being used as scaffolding tubes, fluid conveyance tubes, wire conduits, bracket tubes, guardrail tubes, and more.

Low-pressure fluid welded pipes are a type of straight-seam welded pipe designed for carrying water and gas. After welding, they undergo more rigorous hydraulic pressure testing compared to regular welded pipes, making them more durable and reliable. As a result, they are generally more expensive than standard straight-seam pipes, with a price difference of around 80 yuan.
