In the last two articles, I shared some of the stories behind the product upgrades and functional choices in Zhongwang CAD+. When it comes to Zhongwang CAD+, there's so much we can be proud of. It is the first platform software truly developed and owned by Chinese engineers, having been tested and refined through feedback from users both at home and abroad. More importantly, since the entire codebase was written by our own R&D team, any bug fixes, new features, or API expansions come naturally to us. This deep familiarity allows for faster improvements and upgrades, which is a strong testament to our ability to respond quickly to user needs.
As you know, CAD is a universal design platform used primarily for mechanical and architectural design, but the requirements differ significantly between the two fields. For example, mechanical designers often need a comprehensive parts library and strict design standards, while architects require precise profiles and 3D visualization. A generic platform alone can't fully meet these specialized demands. That’s why professional applications and small plug-ins built on the CAD platform have become essential tools for boosting design efficiency. Zhongwang has always understood this need and continues to address it.
Building on a solid foundation of platform technology, we've started to evaluate Zhongwang CAD+'s API capabilities, testing its potential for future professional software development. The results were impressive and further motivated us to push forward.
Zhongwang CAD Mechanical Edition is the first professional design software developed on the CAD+ platform. Engineers worked hard to create a large and comprehensive mechanical parts library, covering 14 major categories with over 1,600 components. Don’t underestimate the value of this library—common parts like bolts and bearings, often referred to as "nameless" in mechanical drawings, are all available for direct drag-and-drop use. Additionally, support for international standards such as GB, ISO, ANSI, DIN, and JIS enables seamless global collaboration.

In the field of architectural design, users expect not only 2D drawing capabilities but also 3D visualization. Zhongwang CAD Architectural Edition meets this demand by using custom object technology, where building components serve as the basic design unit. It integrates 2D engineering drawings, 3D representation, and building information into one powerful tool.

Later, Zhongwang Stamping Die Edition was successfully launched based on the CAD+ platform, and several other professional applications such as Southern Surveying and Mapping CASS, Tianyue, and Yanxiu Toolbox were also integrated onto the platform, which was very encouraging. Moreover, Zhongwang CAD+ offers customized services tailored to individual user needs. Many successful cases have already emerged, such as the garden module provided for the Hangzhou Garden Institute, the water conservancy station number function for Shanghai Liyuan, and the automatic coordinate labeling and attribute table generation functions offered to Zhongrui Communication. These special modules—like optical network and resource management—fit their actual application needs perfectly.
Ultimately, whether it's Zhongwang CAD+ itself or its various versions like the mechanical or architectural editions, our goal is to provide users with effective and comprehensive CAD solutions. In the past, this was challenging, but now, with the new kernel and improved API, we're making steady progress. We believe that in the future, we will unlock even more value for our users.
If I had to describe our journey, I’d say we’ve been continuously chasing user needs. And right now, Zhongwang CAD has made significant breakthroughs in both depth and breadth.
