What should you pay attention to before the bag filter is operated?
The bag filter is a dry dust collection system designed to capture fine, dry, and non-fibrous particulate matter. It uses woven or non-woven filter fabrics as the filtering medium. When contaminated air enters the system, larger and heavier particles settle due to gravity and fall into the ash hopper. The finer dust particles are then trapped by the fabric, allowing clean air to pass through.
The structure of a bag filter typically includes an upper chamber, a middle chamber, a lower chamber (also known as the ash hopper), a cleaning system, and an ash discharge mechanism. The performance of the bag filter depends not only on the selection of appropriate filter bags but also on the efficiency of the cleaning system, which plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal operation. Cleaning methods vary depending on the type of bag filter, and they are essential for ensuring long-term effectiveness.
Proper functioning of the bag filter is vital for its integration into industrial processes. If not maintained correctly, it can quickly lose efficiency, leading to poor air quality and potential damage to equipment. During the initial testing phase, several key points should be carefully monitored:
1. Check the installation of the filter bags for any signs of sagging, loosening, or wear. This can be visually assessed by observing the chimney emissions after startup.
2. Monitor for condensation inside the bag room and ensure the ash discharge system is free from blockages. Any issues here can lead to corrosion and affect the main production line.
3. Adjust the cleaning cycle and duration based on the specific needs of the system. These factors significantly influence the performance of the dust collection unit.
4. Verify that the airflow, pressure, and temperature at various test points match the design specifications.
5. Check the fan’s rotation direction, speed, bearing vibration, and temperature to ensure smooth operation.
If the cleaning process is too frequent, it can cause the filter bags to tear or rupture. The time between cleanings is referred to as the cleaning cycle. A longer cycle is usually preferable to maintain economical resistance levels. Therefore, it's important to analyze the dust properties, concentration, and other factors to determine the optimal cleaning schedule and parameters during testing.
Sudden changes in the temperature of the exhaust gas can cause the fan shaft to deform, leading to imbalance and vibration during operation. When the system stops, the temperature drops rapidly, causing vibrations again upon restart. During the initial operation of the bag filter, abnormal temperature, pressure, and moisture levels often occur, which may damage the new system.
