Jilin Governor to the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials
On July 31, a high-level delegation led by Governor Bayin Chaolu of Jilin Province visited Jilin University to inspect and guide the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. The group included Vice Governor Gu Chunli, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Director of the Education Department Zhang Bojun, Secretary of the Provincial Government Li Fuchun, as well as leaders from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Finance Department, Department of Industry and Information Technology, Office of Human Resources and Social Security, and the Science and Technology Department.
Jilin University's Party Secretary Chen Dewen, Executive Vice President Zhao Ji, Vice Presidents Zhang Xiangdong and Wu Zhenwu, along with representatives from the Science and Technology Department, Social Science Department, Party Office, School Office, and Jida Holdings, accompanied the visit. During the tour, the delegation visited the National Engineering Laboratory for AIDS Vaccine and the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, where they observed various research projects and innovations.
In the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, Governor Bayin Chaolu and his team listened attentively to Professor Zou Guangtian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Associate Dean of the School of Physics, as well as Professors Gao Zhi and others, who presented their research on high-voltage scientific techniques, diamond film deposition, high-temperature and high-pressure synthetic diamond technology, and preparations for national major science and technology infrastructure projects.
At the exhibition booth showcasing the synthesis of special industrial diamond single crystals, Governor Bayin Chaolu asked detailed questions about the project’s industrial application. Upon learning that the laboratory had only transferred its technology to Henan Province, he encouraged the researchers to leverage local opportunities and make greater efforts to promote the industrialization of Jilin Province.
During the inspection, Chen Dewen emphasized that Jilin University should fully support the transformation of its scientific and technological achievements, prioritizing their application within Jilin. He stressed the importance of building a market-oriented, industry-university-research integrated innovation system through mutual support and development, aiming to serve both national and regional economic construction.
