Midsummer å’‹ anti-mylon premature aging

In summer, as environmental factors such as temperature and light change, the stems and leaves of loofah plants grow rapidly, while the roots age quickly. If not properly managed, this can lead to early aging of the plants. To prevent this, it's recommended that farmers take the following steps: Proper watering is essential for loofah, which prefers moist conditions and is not drought-resistant. The ideal soil moisture level should be between 70% and 85%. Farmers should water the plants in a timely manner to avoid drought stress, which can cause premature aging. After harvesting the main vine, water once, then again two days after the fruit starts to develop, and another two days before picking. This helps promote the growth of the fruits and keeps the plants healthy. During the fruiting period, both vegetative and reproductive growth are strong, so regular top-dressing with nutrients is important to support the plant’s needs. When planting, it's common to leave one fruit per three or four leaves. However, farmers should adjust based on the plant's growth condition. On vigorous plants, one fruit can be left per one or three leaves, while on weaker plants, it's better to reduce the number of fruits and allow five or six leaves to grow. This prevents overloading the plant and ensures balanced development. Adjustments should be made regularly to maintain healthy growth and avoid early senescence. Temperature control is also crucial. Loofah grows best at daytime temperatures between 25°C and 32°C, and nighttime temperatures between 15°C and 20°C. In summer, when temperatures rise quickly, farmers should take measures to cool the greenhouse. First, ensure good ventilation by opening doors and vents during midday. Second, use shade nets to block sunlight and reduce heat. Shade nets should be applied before 11 a.m. and removed after 3 p.m. to optimize light exposure. Additionally, proper watering helps lower ground temperature through evaporation, making it an effective cooling method. Pest and disease management is equally important. Although loofah is generally resistant to diseases, high humidity and heat in greenhouses can increase the risk of bacterial and viral infections. To prevent bacterial diseases, farmers should spray agricultural streptomycin (3000 times dilution) before the vines start to fall. For viral diseases, focus on controlling pests by using insect-proof nets, yellow sticky traps, and applying insecticides like acetamiprid or imidacloprid. Combining these with natural products like Ningnanmycin and mushroom protein can enhance the plant's resistance and reduce the chance of infection.
