Electric heating film floor heating precautions

1. When installing the flooring, it's highly recommended to choose a reputable brand of flooring. The ideal thickness should be around 0.8 cm. If the floor is too thick, it may hinder heat transfer and reduce energy efficiency. Reputable brands typically meet higher environmental standards, so you can be more confident about harmful gas emissions. However, if you notice any strange odors, stop using the system immediately, identify the cause, and take necessary actions to ensure safe operation.

2. Avoid placing anything that blocks heat dissipation near the thermostat. This could lead to inaccurate temperature control and uneven heating across the electric film. For example, if there’s a cover over the thermostat, the area under the cover might reach the set temperature (e.g., 30°C) while other parts of the film remain below the desired level.

3. On floors with far-infrared electric heating films, avoid making permanent decorations or placing furniture without legs. If you must place such items, consider removing them when not in use. Heavy items like blankets or cushions can trap heat underneath, causing overheating and potentially damaging both the film and the floor surface.

4. It's best to set the temperature below 35°C during normal use. When first turning on the system or using it for an extended period, start at a low temperature—around 15–20°C—and gradually increase to your preferred setting. This helps protect the system and ensures even heating.

5. Never place flame-retardant materials directly on the heating surface of the electric film. Also, avoid nailing or drilling into the tiles of the installed system. Keep the floor or tile surface clean, and make sure no debris, sharp wood chips, or nails are left on the heating film, as they can damage the system.

6. A proper insulation layer must be installed beneath the floor. In colder northern regions or on the ground floor, consider increasing the thickness of the insulation for better performance. When laying tiles, use a thin-bed technique, and keep the cement mortar around 3–4 cm thick. Ensure the moisture content is controlled, and avoid placing the electric film directly in wet conditions by storing it in a sealed plastic bag if necessary.

7. Turn off the floor heating or switch to a low-temperature setting when leaving the room or when no one is present. Each room should have its own thermostat, placed on an accessible interior wall—not in a shaded, cold, or sunny spot. Choose a thermostat with high temperature accuracy, and make sure its coverage area is larger than the heating film itself. The thermostat sensor should be attached to the back of the film for accurate readings.

8. For steam rooms, it's recommended to use Korean-imported insulation cotton due to its strong fire resistance. Avoid using compressed boards. When using the system in a steam room, do not place the energy cloth directly on the electric film or under the legs of any furniture.

9. If the copper sheet (heating strip) of the electric film is damaged—whether broken or disconnected—it can cause sparks. Therefore, handle this part with care during transportation and installation to prevent accidents.
